Why & What About Thoracic Assessment & Treatment

Based on what I have experienced as a clinician, the thoracic spine can be a difficult area to treat and is often given less focus compared to the cervical and lumbar regions. We all need a greater understanding of the thoracic spine and more strategies to help people move out of their pain and/or dysfunction, so I've consolidated some of the key points I've learned from my mentors into a course just for you!

Upon completion of this course, you will have a greater understanding of:

  • Type 1 and Type 2 thoracic motion
  • Motions of the spine during gait and various sporting activities
  • In-sync and out-of-sync motion
  • Creative strategies for assessing the thoracic spine and creating an integrative treatment plan
  • How inter-related hip and shoulder motions are and the implications on the spine

All in all, this course will refine and improve the thought process that the site of injury isn't the cause of the injury, while enhancing your understanding of integrated movement.
